The upgraded office includes a dedicated workspace for the Chief Minister, CCTV surveillance, a 10-member staff to handle daily public petitions, and an integrated common service centre (E-Sevai Maiyam) to speed up civic requests.
Vijay also launched a new grievance-redressal mobile application, "Jana Sevana Vedhi," which lets residents submit and track complaints related to electricity, water supply, roads, sanitation and welfare schemes online, with officials instructed to take preliminary action within three days.
He went on to inspect a fair price shop in the constituency and launched the statewide rollout of 73,000 new smart ration cards, distributing cards and land ownership pattas to eligible beneficiaries.
