TVK Demands Complete Abolition of NEET, Seeks Full State Control Over Medical Education
Tamil Nadu's ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, said on July 22 that it wants NEET scrapped entirely rather than reformed, and called for medical education to be moved from the Concurrent List to the State List so that states can set their own admission policies.

TVK issued a statement on July 22 describing its position on NEET as "uncompromising and firm," saying it is not merely seeking changes to the exam system but wants the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test abolished altogether.
The party demanded that medical education be shifted from the Concurrent List to the State List of the Constitution, so that states can decide their own admission policies for medical colleges instead of following a uniform central examination.
TVK suggested that if legal or constitutional hurdles stood in the way of an immediate transfer, a "Special Concurrent List" could be created as an interim measure to let states exercise full authority over medical education.
The statement came amid continuing nationwide protests and concerns over alleged irregularities in the medical entrance examination, an issue on which the party has taken a position before.
