By the close of the second counting round at 08:30 IST, TVK held leads in twenty-five of the first forty constituencies declared. The party's urban performance — visible across Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai — confirmed the strategic bet that the 2026 campaign placed on the city Tamil voter.
In Perambur, the symbolic urban anchor of the campaign, Vijay was ahead by a margin large enough to be considered safe even by conservative trend modellers. Tiruchirappalli East, the second filed seat, recorded a tighter but still positive lead through the morning.
A full state-wide picture is expected by 16:00 IST. The TVK Press Office will publish a consolidated bulletin once the Election Commission of India confirms the official totals for at least 200 of the 234 assembly constituencies.
