A senior Tamil Nadu minister extended a formal invitation to VCK and IUML to join the TVK-led state cabinet, signalling the government's intention to expand its coalition strength through trusted alliance partners. The move comes as the TVK government, which currently has 10 ministers, is expected to expand its cabinet to fill vacant portfolios including Higher Education, Revenue, Transport, Social Welfare, and Agriculture.
Congress MLAs S. Rajeshkumar and P. Viswanathan are also widely reported as certain to receive cabinet berths in the upcoming expansion. The invitation to VCK and IUML is seen as a move to consolidate the alliance further, particularly given that both parties extended critical outside support during the floor test. The cabinet expansion is expected to strengthen TVK's legislative coordination across the coalition.
