Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay arrived back in Chennai on Friday after completing his historic first official two-day Delhi visit, and a deafening noise erupted when people saw his car, according to live coverage by Thanthi TV.
Thousands of TVK supporters and fans lined the roads from the airport, with the kind of euphoric crowd reception rarely seen for a sitting Chief Minister.
The arrival came after a packed Delhi schedule that included meetings with PM Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the inauguration of the Thiruvalluvar statue at JNU, and a dinner hosted by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
The CM was accompanied back by senior ministers including PWD Minister Aadhav Arjuna.
