CM Vijay issues firm order on Trichy nursing student death — Health Minister Arunraj announces special inquiry committee, 7-day report deadline

A nursing student died following surgery at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Trichy, triggering protests by fellow students and relatives who alleged medical negligence.
Minister Ramesh visited the hospital and announced: "A special committee has been constituted to conduct an inquiry into the surgery performed on the student. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings."
He assured protesters that the government would support them and no action would be taken against those who participated in the demonstrations.
Health Minister Dr. K.G. Arunraj confirmed that CM Vijay had personally issued a "strong order" directing authorities to act firmly on findings and ensure accountability across all government hospitals.
The inquiry committee has been given a seven-day deadline to submit a complete report to the Health Department.
