CM Vijay, DMK's Stalin Greet Teachers on Teachers' Day

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and former Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin issued separate messages on September 5 greeting teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day, observed annually to mark the birth anniversary of former President and educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

In his message, Vijay said the role of teachers extended far beyond classroom instruction, describing them as central to nurturing young minds, instilling values and preparing students to become responsible citizens capable of contributing to the nation's development. He recalled Radhakrishnan's contribution to education while extending his wishes to teachers across the state.

Stalin, in his greeting, described teachers as those who shape students into good human beings, saying their role went beyond imparting academic knowledge to include developing character, discipline and a sense of social responsibility among the young.

Teachers' Day is observed across India on September 5 each year in honour of Dr. Radhakrishnan, who was born in Thiruttani, Tamil Nadu, in 1888 and later served as the country's first Vice President and second President.
