CM Vijay Congratulates Shooter Elavenil Valarivan on Two Asian Games Silver Medals
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on September 21 congratulated Tamil Nadu shooter Elavenil Valarivan for winning silver in the women's 10m air rifle individual event and a second silver in the team event at the Asian Games 2026, saying her achievements set a target for the younger generation.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Monday, September 21, congratulated shooter Elavenil Valarivan on her double-silver performance at the Asian Games 2026, a day after President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Arlekar had also felicitated her.
Elavenil first combined with Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod to win silver in the women's 10m air rifle team event on the opening day of the Games, before adding an individual silver in the 10m air rifle event later the same day.
In his message, the Chief Minister congratulated Elavenil for the individual silver and for being part of the Indian team that secured the team silver, and said her achievements set a target for the younger generation and instil belief and encouragement in youngsters to accomplish great things in sports.
