PWD Minister Aadhav Arjuna claimed during the Delhi visit that 90 per cent of AIADMK MLAs would end up joining TVK soon — a statement that drew immediate and sharp reactions from across the political spectrum.
AIADMK condemned the statement as "openly threatening the constitutional right of elected representatives," calling on the Speaker to reject all pending resignation letters.
MK Stalin said the TVK government was "more interested in engineering the collapse of the opposition than in running the state," pointing to the AIADMK MLA absorption strategy as evidence of governance failure.
Congress MP S Jothimani's earlier comment calling the strategy "horse-trading" gained fresh traction following Arjuna's claim, signalling rising discomfort within the ruling INDIA bloc coalition over TVK's approach.
The episode added a new dimension to CM Vijay's Delhi visit — overshadowing some of the diplomatic achievements and raising questions about whether the aggressive AIADMK absorption strategy was alienating key alliance partners.
