Women's Welfare
Monthly income support, free bus travel, LPG, marriage gold, newborn kits, and dedicated safety measures — Women First.
Madhippumigu Magalir Thittam — ₹2,500 Monthly Income Support
The Madhippumigu Magalir Thittam is the centrepiece of TVK's women's welfare agenda: a monthly direct cash transfer of ₹2,500 to every woman head of household below 60 years of age. This is not a subsidy routed through intermediaries — it is a guaranteed income floor delivered directly to the bank account of the eligible woman, reaching an estimated 1.5 crore families across Tamil Nadu. The scheme recognises that women who manage households without formal employment bear the heaviest burden of inflation, and that unconditional cash in their hands has a proven multiplier effect on nutrition, education, and family health.
Annapoorani Super Six & Vettri Payanam — Fuel and Freedom to Move
The Annapoorani Super Six scheme provides six free LPG cylinders per year to every ration cardholder — eliminating the monthly squeeze that forces low-income families to make impossible choices between cooking fuel and food. Alongside this, the Vettri Payanam guarantee extends free travel to women on all government-operated Ordinary, Express, and Deluxe bus services with no time-of-day or route restrictions, enabling women to pursue education, employment, and economic activity without the cost of commuting acting as a barrier.
Annan Seer Thittam & Thaai Maaman — Marriage and Newborn Support
For families marrying a daughter, the Annan Seer Thittam provides 8 grams of gold and a quality silk saree to brides from households with annual income below ₹5 lakh. This scheme directly addresses the debt trap that pushes low-income families into moneylenders' hands at the time of marriage. Every child born in a government hospital receives a gold ring and a curated Baby Welcome Kit under the Thaai Maaman Thanga Modhiram — a statement that public healthcare is a place of dignity, not a last resort.
Kamarajar Kalvi Urudhi — ₹15,000 Annual Education Grant
The Kamarajar Kalvi Urudhi Thittam delivers ₹15,000 per year to the mother or guardian of every student in Classes 1 through 12 to cover school-related expenses — uniforms, stationery, transport — that drive dropout rates in low-income households. Named after Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, the architect of Tamil Nadu's mid-day meal and free education legacy, this scheme treats the mother as the primary agent of her child's educational continuity.
SHG Credit & The Complete Welfare Stack
Women-led Self Help Groups receive interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh under an expanded SHG credit guarantee, building the economic infrastructure for women's entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. Taken together — income support, cooking fuel, transport, marriage assistance, newborn care, school funding, and business credit — TVK's women's welfare chapter functions as a comprehensive economic security stack, treating women's financial independence as the foundation of every other social guarantee.
