DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin, speaking to reporters in Chennai on Thursday, offered a sharp critique of CM Vijay's Delhi visit, calling it largely "a photo opportunity and optics exercise" rather than substantive governance negotiations.
Stalin questioned why Vijay failed to secure any concrete commitments from the Centre on pending dues: the ₹2,500 crore in education funds withheld under PM SHRI, GST compensation dues, and National Highway approvals.
"You went to Delhi, got a photo with PM Modi, but returned empty-handed," he said, challenging the CM to share what tangible outcomes came from the visit within seven days.
Stalin's critique pointed to a broader pattern he said was emerging: a government more focused on optics and AIADMK MLA poaching than on delivering substantive results for Tamil Nadu's people — on education funding, fiscal rights, and infrastructure.
The seven-day deadline challenge sets up a public accountability moment for the TVK government, with opposition parties watching closely for any Centre-State follow-up on the issues raised during the PM Modi meeting.
