Following the confidence vote, the Tamil Nadu government today officially notified the portfolio allocation for all cabinet ministers, signalling the full operationalisation of the TVK government.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has retained the General Administration and Public Works departments under his direct charge, consistent with his stated approach of maintaining a single power centre in governance. 'Bussy' N. Anand has been assigned the Home and Revenue departments — two of the most powerful portfolios in the state, overseeing law enforcement, land administration, and the state's primary revenue machinery.
Veteran educationist K.A. Sengottaiyan has been appointed Minister for School Education and Agriculture. His experience as a former School Education minister is expected to ensure policy continuity in ongoing schemes while enabling the new government's planned reforms.
Aadhav Arjuna has been handed the Sports and Youth Welfare portfolio. At his first press interaction, he committed to tabling a comprehensive New Sports Policy within 100 days — promising district-level infrastructure upgrades, a state athlete scholarship fund, and a transparent selection process for state-level teams. "Tamil Nadu has always produced world-class athletes. My job is to make sure the state doesn't lose them to neglect," he said.
