HR&CE Minister Ramesh stated in a media interaction that CM Vijay has not given opportunities or responsibilities based on caste, directly rejecting allegations to the contrary.
The minister was responding to critics who raised questions about caste considerations in portfolio allocations within the TVK cabinet.
Ramesh, who belongs to the Brahmin community and represents the temple town of Srirangam constituency, is widely noted as the first Brahmin HR&CE minister in Tamil Nadu in recent decades.
He said the CM's approach reflects a purely merit and representation-based framework, with no consideration of community affiliation in assigning ministerial responsibilities.
The clarification comes amid broader scrutiny of the TVK government's 35-member cabinet, which includes ministers from diverse caste and community backgrounds.
