CM Vijay honours pre-election alliance promise: "Partners will always get a share in power"
Congress MP Manickam Tagore hailed the cabinet induction as fulfilling TVK's pre-election pledge, noting that DMK had openly declared Tamil Nadu's governance would not be shared — and voters delivered their verdict on that stance.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore welcomed the development as an emotional and historic moment for party workers. Tagore posted on X: "Even before the 2026 elections, the DMK had openly declared that Tamil Nadu would not accept a share in the governance. The people have now delivered their verdict on this matter."
"TVK leader Vijay — who had pledged that alliance partners would always be granted a share in power — has honoured his promise. Now, after 59 years, two Khadi-clad Congress ministers have secured a place in the Cabinet."
The induction signals Congress's deeper integration into the new ruling coalition and marks the first time in Tamil Nadu's modern democratic history that a non-Dravidian party's allies have been given ministerial portfolios.
