Energy and Law Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar alleged on August 14 that the DMK and the BJP, previously in an indirect understanding, had now entered an open and direct alliance, claiming the DMK planned to walk out rather than vote against the proposed delimitation legislation; the DMK dismissed the charge.
