DMK MLA Markandeyan Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody; Stalin Warns of "Consequences," Son Alleges Police Intimidation
A day after his arrest over remarks deemed threatening to Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, DMK Vilathikulam MLA G.V. Markandeyan was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody on July 21, as DMK president M.K. Stalin sharpened his criticism of the police action and the legislator's son alleged he had been subjected to a 13-hour interrogation and intimidated by investigators.
