On his first official day at the Fort St. George Secretariat, Chief Minister Vijay signed three pivotal files: the provision of 200 units of free electricity for all domestic consumers, the creation of a dedicated Women's Safety Force, and the launch of a statewide War on Drugs mechanism.
The new CM announced that his government would release a White Paper on the state's finances to address the ₹10 lakh crore debt inherited from the previous administration. The White Paper is intended to ensure full public transparency before any new expenditure commitments are made.
Nine cabinet ministers, including 'Bussy' N. Anand and K.A. Sengottaiyan, assumed their respective portfolios today. The full cabinet expansion is expected within the fortnight.
