Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) held a significant internal strategy meeting on June 10, confirmed by Thanthi TV's breaking news coverage as a "This is the plan" moment that sent the political arena buzzing.
The meeting, attended by senior ministers and party functionaries, was convened ahead of Chief Minister Vijay's three-day Delhi visit and focused on three key agendas.
First, the party discussed finalising a candidate for the Tiruchirappalli East Assembly by-election, the seat vacated after Thirumavalavan declined to contest despite earlier indications. The by-election date has been confirmed for July 2026.
Second, TVK strategised for the four by-elections expected to arise from the AIADMK rebel MLA resignations in Perundurai, Maduranthakam, Dharapuram, and Ambasamudram constituencies.
Third, the meeting served as a 30-day governance review — assessing the TVK government's performance across its flagship commitments since taking office in May 2026.
The meeting signals TVK's aggressive electoral stance heading into a potentially busy by-election season across Tamil Nadu.
