Moving beyond the initial signing of files, the Chief Minister's Office today released the operational blueprint for the "War on Drugs." The government has sanctioned the immediate establishment of 65 specialized Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) units across all 38 districts.
These units will have "extraordinary jurisdictional powers" to investigate cross-border drug trafficking. CM Vijay announced that these units would report directly to a newly formed State Security Council.
Emphasising the independence of the new framework, CM Vijay stated there will be "zero tolerance" for political interference in drug-related investigations — a pointed signal to law enforcement and political networks across the state.
