DMK president MK Stalin on Wednesday paid floral tributes at the Kalaignar Karunanidhi statue at the Omandurar Government Estate in Chennai, accompanied by senior party leaders.
He also visited the DMK headquarters and the party's Youth Wing office, where he distributed sweets to party workers as part of the birth anniversary commemorations.
In an emotional social media post reflecting on DMK's loss in the recent assembly elections — which broke the decades-long DMK-AIADMK political duopoly — Stalin wrote: "Now, we have lost the chance for victory. Yet your strength is not just with me, but with every comrade you inspired and nurtured."
"We declare with resolve... We will write the saga of victory once more! With the light of the rising sun, we will drive away the darkness enveloping Tamil Nadu!" he added — a pointed metaphor targeting the TVK government.
