AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami removed MLA C. Vijayabaskar from his position as district secretary, according to Thanthi TV's live coverage.
Vijayabaskar — who held the Health portfolio during the EPS government (2017–2021) — was among the last prominent rebel MLA faces still holding a formal AIADMK party position after the trust vote controversy.
His removal underlines EPS's continuing drive to consolidate party structures and complete the purge of those who voted against the party line during the assembly floor test.
A search for a new district secretary to replace Vijayabaskar has begun. The move comes alongside a broader AIADMK reorganisation that EPS has been pursuing since the May 13 trust vote.
