DMK's Kanimozhi Calls TVK Government's Actions 'Anarchic', Cites Anbil Mahesh Raid and Pattinapakkam Row
DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi said on September 17 that people had begun to realise the 'anarchic actions' of the TVK government, pointing to law-and-order concerns, the plan to build a new Secretariat at Pattinapakkam despite opposition from local fishing hamlets, and a Chennai CCB raid a day earlier on former minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, which she suggested was meant to divert public attention.

DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said on September 17 that people had begun to realise what she called the "anarchic actions" of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government, listing law-and-order concerns and a series of recent controversies.
She referred to the government's plan, announced about 16 days earlier, to build a new Assembly-Secretariat complex at Pattinapakkam at an estimated cost of around Rs 1,200 crore, which residents of more than ten fishing hamlets in the area have opposed, demanding the government order be withdrawn.
Kanimozhi also cited the September 16 Chennai Central Crime Branch search of the residence of former School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, linked to allegations of around Rs 100 crore collected from private schools in exchange for government approvals, suggesting the timing was intended to divert public attention from other issues.
DMK president and former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had a day earlier described the raid on Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi as a case of political vendetta by the state government.
Kanimozhi said the DMK's voice could not be silenced through the use of authority or repression, and asserted that the party would not bow down to such actions.
