Director Ameer expressed anger, stating publicly that Minister Rajmohan should not talk about Jana Nayagan — CM Vijay's much-anticipated final film that is still awaiting CBFC clearance.
Ameer argued that the minister speaking about CM Vijay's personal film in an official capacity was inappropriate and amounted to mixing political governance with the CM's prior cinema identity.
The controversy adds to the existing debate about where CM Vijay's pre-political filmography ends and his governmental role begins — a distinction that has proved politically sensitive since he assumed office.
Minister Rajmohan has not yet issued a formal response to Ameer's criticism.
