CM Vijay Lays Foundation for Rs 850 Crore Adidas Footwear Factory in Karur
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay virtually laid the foundation stone for an Rs 850 crore non-leather footwear factory in Karur that will manufacture for Adidas and is expected to create around 6,750 jobs, days after his first post-stampede visit to the district.

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay laid the foundation stone, via video conference, for a new non-leather footwear factory in Karur district being set up by Evervan Kothari Footwear Private Limited to manufacture products for Adidas.
The expansion involves an investment of about Rs 850 crore and is expected to generate around 6,750 direct jobs, with women expected to make up a large share of the workforce.
The government said the project would strengthen Tamil Nadu's position in global footwear manufacturing and boost industrial growth and exports from Karur district.
The announcement came days after Vijay's first visit to Karur since the September 2025 rally stampede, as the government continues to push investment and rehabilitation initiatives in the district.
