BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagendran accused the TVK government of remaining distracted by post-election celebrations while serious crimes continued across the state.
Referring to two recent murder incidents, he alleged that criminals were operating without fear and that the administration had failed to respond with urgency.
On the other side of the aisle, DMK Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin mounted an equally sharp attack, questioning whether Tamil Nadu's law and order was deteriorating under the new government.
In a pointed social media post, Udhayanidhi asked whether Tamil Nadu was beginning to resemble Uttar Pradesh — a comparison often used in southern political discourse to attack governance failures — and accused CM Vijay of going silent after making strong election promises on protecting women and children.
The twin attacks from BJP and DMK reflect the political pressure building on CM Vijay's administration over law and order, especially following the Coimbatore minor girl murder case.
