Tamil Nadu CM Vijay met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Delhi and handed over a memorandum to prioritise funding for ports, national highways, railway projects, and industrial corridors crucial for Tamil Nadu's development.
The meeting focused on Tamil Nadu's financial requirements, including the release of pending Central allocations, GST compensation dues, and early disbursement of funds under various Central schemes.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge hosted a dinner for CM Vijay in the evening, following the inclusion of two Congress MLAs in the TVK Cabinet — an event that underscored the ruling coalition's formal solidarity.
CM Vijay is also scheduled to meet Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 27 and May 28 as part of the Delhi visit itinerary.
The Delhi visit, spanning two days, is being seen as a comprehensive diplomatic and policy engagement to fast-track Tamil Nadu's development priorities with the Central government.
